Technology Integration Workshops




This 15 hour professional development opportunity will introduce you to a multitude of online resources.  Each session, new and exciting resources will be explored.  Our purpose is to spark your creativity and assist you in updating and enhancing some aspect of your practice, from a new form of assessment to an existing lesson or unit of instruction.  The workshops are independent of one another, so you may opt to register for one session, any or all of them.  You will be recommended for credit for the hours that you attend.

Creating Smart Board Lessons Aligned with CCLS in Mathematics


This 45 hour professional development opportunity is designed for teachers who wish to enhance their mathematics instruction using the Smart Board while aligning their lessons/units with the Common Core Learning Standards in Mathematics.  Participants will receive an overview of the standards and Smart Board technology, and will use that knowledge to create 5 lessons that link the standards and the technology.

This is a hybrid course which requires a 15 hour practicum of research and lesson development outside of classroom hours.  An Internet connection is required.

Saturday, June 16, 2012, from 8:00 a.m. - 3:30 p.m.  in Islip Middle School, Islip, NY.

"Racing to the Top with Instructional Technology: Aligning 21st Century Skills
and Instructional Technology with New State Mandates" is an ideal professional
development opportunity for all educators from preservice teachers to veteran
administrators interested in viewing the latest educational technology and
learning how to integrate it into instruction in light of changes in education.
