The Living New Deal in New York-Common Core Professional Development for Teachers

Explore New Deal history through the art, theater, and literature produced in 1930's New York.
Integrate this history into curricula informed by the Common Core Learning Standards.

Keynote Speaker: Kirstin Downey
Author of The Woman Behind the New Deal: The Life of Frances Perkins, FDR's Secretary of Labor and His Moral Conscience. Kirstin is a Pulitzer Prize–winning journalist and writer.
